intestine

Digestive system é is constituted by the mouth, larynxstomach e intestino, sendo este último, dividido anatômica e funcionalmente em duas porções: grosso e delgado.

O intestino small is a digestive tube located between the stomach and large intestine, it is the portion of the Digestive System responsible for absorbing most of the nutrients we ingest.

Anatomy of the Small Intestine

Parts of the small intestine: duodenum, jejunum and ileum.

Anatomically, this structure is approximately 6m long by 4cm in diameter, divided into three distinct regions: o duodenum, located close to the stomach (about 25 cm), o_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_jejuno (2.5 meters), which is the central part, and o ileum_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf.58d), near thelarge intestine. These last two regions are difficult to identify and differentiate, being constantly and correctly called the jejunoileum.

Functionality

The stomach and duodenum are separated by a muscular sphincter called pylorus, through which the stomach contents are destined for the small intestine for the beginning of the digestive process, in quantities that it is able to digest.

When full, the small instinct receives a bile, which is produced by liver e stored in the gallbladder, and pancreatic juice, coming from the pancreas, in addition to intestinal juice, produced by the intestinal wall itself.

Os peristaltic movements (rhythmic contractions)   cause stomach contents (chyme) to mix with these secretions, turning into kilo.

When the material is in this state, our organism absorbs the products and nutrients useful to the body through the villi and microvilli of the intestinal wall, which are folds that increase the absorbent surface area.

Functionally, the digestive process takes place predominantly in the duodenum and the first portions of the jejunum, while the lower portions and the ileum are responsible for the absorption of nutrients and some vitamins vitals.

The intestinal wall is highly vascularized, so once nutrients are absorbed by the villi, blood vessels transport them to the liver via the vein porta and into the bloodstream in order to reach every cell in our body. The name of assimilation  is given to this process of using the absorbed substances to constitute and supply energy to the organism.

O large intestine (simply and erroneously called colon) is the final part of the digestive tube.

It is responsible for the important process of water absorption, which determines the consistency of the faecal cake, has a rica bacterial flora.

The functions of the large intestine are as follows: absorption of water and certain electrolytes; synthesis of certain vitamins by intestinal bacteria (eg a vitamin K; temporary storage of waste; elimination of waste from the body (defecation).

It measures approximately 1.5 meters and has three parts: o cecum, colon and rectum. The cecum is where the  flowssmall intestine, and where a tube-shaped extension is located, o vermiform appendix.

The colon is subdivided into four parts: ascending colon or right; transverse colon which crosses a abdominal cavity from right to left; Odescending colon or left; and the sigmoid colon. The rectum, which communicates the colon with the outside through the anal orifice (anus), has a dilatation called rectal ampoule, whose enlargement (pelas feces) triggers the act de defecation.

The anus is closed by a muscle called anal sphincter, situated around it, in the form of a ring. In the large intestine, the digestion residues, the feces, are accumulated, and the water is absorbed before they pass into the rectal ampulla.

The large intestine absorbs water very quickly: in about 14 hours, the food material takes on the typical consistency of a fecal bolus.

ENEMATHERAPY:

Effective and proven preventive practice for bowel cleansing

Enematherapy is a simple and safe practice, which consists of mechanical washing of the intestinal colon, using filtered water and herbal medicines (teas or infusions). In a few minutes, stagnant feces (fecalomas) are eliminated, along with bacteria and toxins. After a few repetitions of this cleansing process with enematherapy, the organs and the body's health are restored.

All over the world, complementary medicine makes use of herbal medicines as the first alternative in health prevention. Home enemas, as a therapy for bowel clearance and cleansing, have been present in many cultures around the world for millennia.

Scientific research warns about the dangers of intestinal obstruction resulting from the accumulation of feces on the walls of the intestinal colon, which can cause serious diseases, due to high toxicity and the infestation of the body by toxins and bacteria.

Inflammation in the joints of the feet, spine and shoulders, panic attacks, depression, high blood pressure, anemia, allergies, among other diseases, can be caused by the presence of stagnant feces in the intestinal colon.

Although quite simple, enematherapy should be performed under the guidance of qualified health professionals.

Foods that are good for the gut

Although, in some cases, constipation can mean more serious health problems - and therefore the complaint needs to be taken to the doctor's office - it can also be a simple matter of poor diet (especially with low fiber).

1.BeanEach serving contains more than 10 grams of fiber, which is important for proper bowel function by faecal fiber contribute for the uptake of water (soluble fibers), accelerating intestinal transit and the frequency of bowel movements.

two.KiwiThe fruit contains 2.5 grams of fiber and is rich in vitamins and nutrients for the proper functioning of the intestine. A study done in Taiwan  proved that including two kiwis a day in the diet significantly increased the frequency of bowel movements in adults with constipation.

3.Sweet potato-In addition to being a good ally of fitness, thanks to its high glycemic index, a potato-sweet contains 3.8 grams of fiber, present mainly in the skin – therefore, the best way to consume , is in its integral form!

4.PopcornIn addition to being delicious, popcorn is a super healthy snack option - 3 cups contain about 3.5 grams of fiber.

5.Nut MixNo wonder the mix of walnuts, almonds and chestnuts is the favorite snack of nutritionists. In addition to being rich in fiber, they have the so-called good fat, which, along with fiber, also contributes to the proper functioning of the intestine.

6. Wholemeal bread It is already more than proven that this is the best way to consume delicious breads. In addition to the high amount of fiber thanks to the ingredients in their integral form (without going through the refinement process), they usually come with nuts and grains full of benefits for the regulation of the intestine.

7.Red fruitsIn addition to being delicious, fruits like blackberries, raspberries and blueberries contain 4 grams of fiber in just half a cup. Include in juices, salads and yogurts for healthy and functional snacks.

8. PearIt has about 5 to 6 grams of fiber and very few calories. But to get the benefits, you need to consume it with the peel.

9.BroccoliIt is considered one of the best foods to include in the diet. Half a cup of broccoli contains about 3 grams of fiber, which helps in the functioning of the intestine and is also rich in vitamin C and antioxidants - great allies for the skin!

10.black plumIt is the number one ingredient in most natural constipation medicines. In addition to being rich in insoluble fiber, they contain a natural laxative called sorbitol, which helps with bowel function.
