POWERFUL COMBINATIONS
Here are some “secrets” that exist behind the correct combinations between foods, that is, the perfect marriages.
The most classic of all is theRice with Beans.
According to IBGE research, in the last decade, Brazilians consumed 30% less beans and 23% less rice. On the other hand, in the same period, the use of soft drinks, biscuits and meat hamburgers increased, with lower nutritional values, with more calories, full of chemical additives and trans fats, and to make matters worse, because of their high glycemic indexes, they soon cause hungry again.
In other words, a wrong and harmful substitution, as there is an increase in harmful fats, carbohydrates with no nutritional value, and in the insufficient intake of fiber-rich cereals provided by our beans and rice.
And yet, according to the IBGE, a large part of the Brazilian population has also adopted canned, frozen supermarket, pre-cooked or ready-to-eat foods. The problem is that most of these are processed foods of low nutritional value, fatty and full of chemicals that make it difficult for the organs to work properly. The consequences are our population becoming obese, tired, with early degenerative diseases, in addition to high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, etc.
It is a pity that the consumption of the traditional beans and rice is replaced, as this has a perfect marriage!
Because rice's amino acids join those of beans and form a complete protein (of high biological value). Thus, together, they repair the tissues of the entire organism. And it's not even necessary to add another protein (no more omnivores mocking, asking where is the protein in vegetarian dishes).
And it's a good one, for those who usually work out before lunch or dinner, the combination of rice and beans eaten right after the exercises will help in recovery and muscle mass gain.
The union only gets better if you opt for brown rice, which has B vitamins, which only enriches the partnership. And it provides long-lasting satiety.
Plus, for the weight conscious, the great news: the perfect duo is low in calories. The rice and beans combination has only 75 calories per tablespoon.
The exceptions are risottos which, in general, are fatty, caloric, and avoid traditional feijoadas, for the same reason; opt for vegetarian dishes full of tubers, roots, natural seasonings, vegetable sausages, smoked tofu and gluten. The flavor is excellent and it is very diverse in nutrients, owing nothing to other feijoada. Furthermore, there is no addition of fat, cholesterol, and the sacrifice of countless animals is avoided.
