Amino acids:

Amino acid is an organic molecule formed by carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen atoms joined together in a characteristic way.

There are non-essential amino acids and essential amino acids.

non-essential amino acidsare those which the human body can synthesize.

They are: alanine, asparagine, cysteine, glycine, glutamine, histidine, proline, thyroxine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid.

essential amino acidsare those that the human organism is not able to synthesize, but are required for its functioning.

Of the 20 essential amino acids that the body uses as a basis for the production of proteins, 11 are produced by our body, and 9 of them are obtained through food, by eating foods rich in proteins.

The 9 Essential Amino Acids are:

1) Histidine
2) Isoleucine
3) Leucina
4) Lisina
5) Methionine
6) Phenylalanine
7) Threonine
8) Tryptophan
9) Valina

If one of these essential amino acids is missing, thousands of proteins will not be produced, causing damage to health.

A balanced diet is more than necessary to provide the amount of amino acids we need; and even people who don't eat meat can get all the essential amino acids.

Most plants and bacteria can synthesize all amino acids, and the concept of "essential amino acid" does not exist in these organisms.

About Supplements:

The use of protein and amino acid-based supplements has become usual for those who want to gain muscle mass. However, it is not enough to consume protein to get stronger.

One of the golden rules of our organism is to only use what you need, storing the rest in case of shortage in the future. Everything that is consumed in excess becomes fat (as it is a source of energy that can be stored in large quantities).

Muscle production is encouraged by physical exercise. As the muscle is being more and more demanded, the body demands more protein for that place to be fed and thus, leaving its fibers stronger and stronger.

In the case of sedentary people, who do not usually feed their muscles, fat stays in storage.

Most nutritionists believe that plant-based diets contain a wide variety of amino acids. That is, vegetarians do not need to worry about a lack of protein by choosing not to eat meat.
